Lightweight desktop app to remove password protection from your PDF files. Process multiple files at once, no internet upload needed — your data stays safe on your PC.
Designed for efficiency and ease of use — no technical skills required, no internet needed.
Process dozens or hundreds of PDF files at once with an identical password. Save time — no need to open files one by one.
Your PDF files never leave your computer. All processing happens locally — your privacy is fully guaranteed.
Drag your PDF files directly into the app. Or select from the file explorer with multi-select support.
Monitor the progress of each file live. Clear success or failure status display for every processed file.
Powered by qpdf — one of the most reliable PDF decryption tools globally. Supports various PDF encryption levels.
The app size is very minimal, no complex installation needed. Run straight from the folder — even from a flash drive.
No technical skills needed. Anyone can use it.
Click "Select PDF Files" button or drag & drop one or more PDF files into the available area.
Type your PDF password. Leave it blank if the file has no password but is still protected.
Press the "Remove Password" button and let the application process all files automatically one by one.
Files with removed passwords are automatically saved in the same folder with _unprotected.pdf
name.
Unlike online tools that upload your documents to their servers, PDF Password Remover works entirely on your computer.
Built with Trusted Technologies
Yes, it's free to download and use with no hidden costs and no subscription required. The app is licensed under MIT.
Not at all. All processing is done locally on your computer. The app does not even need an internet connection to work. Your PDF files never leave your device.
Currently, the main distribution is intended for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Windows 10/11 already include WebView2 by default, so there is no need for extra installations.
There is no limit on the number of files. You can select as many PDF files as you like at once. Keep in mind that files are processed sequentially, so processing 100+ files may take a few minutes depending on file sizes.
The application will display a "Failed" status for that file along with an error message. Files that fail will not produce an output file, so your original files remain safe and unmodified.
Output files are automatically saved in the same folder as the original file, with the addition of _unprotected.pdf
at the end of the filename. Example: report.pdf →
report_unprotected.pdf.
